Tyleene's Inspiring Journey: A Hands-On Mom Making a Difference

When you think of a Virtual Assistant (VA), you might imagine someone juggling multiple tasks, ensuring every detail is handled with care and precision. But behind every VA is a unique and inspiring story. Today, we’re sharing the story of our VA, Tyleene Diaz—a dedicated mom who has mastered the art of balancing a hands-on parenting role with a rewarding career.

What Inspired Her to Become a Virtual Assistant?

“I wanted to be a hands-on mom but still be able to provide for my family,” she shares. Her motivation came from a deep desire to stay close to her children while contributing financially to their needs. This aspiration has been the driving force behind her success, proving that career and family can coexist beautifully.

The Challenges of Starting Out

No journey is without its hurdles, and for Tyleene, the biggest challenge was something many can relate to: adjusting to a night shift. “The biggest challenge was the night shift without coffee. I do not drink coffee. So I have tried a lot of things to stay awake, like eating sweets and watching movies or series. But I think what actually worked is proper time management and fixing my sleeping pattern. I tried to be consistent, and it’s working,” she explains. Her perseverance and discipline were key to overcoming this obstacle, a testament to her determination.

A Day in the Life of a Virtual Assistant

What does a typical day look like for this hardworking mom? “I start out with my audits, check emails, and respond if needed. Then I wait for contracts to come in, draft contract emails, plot agent tasks and schedules, and send out client emails.” Her day is meticulously planned, ensuring every task is completed with efficiency and professionalism.

Balancing Multiple Projects

Handling various tasks and projects simultaneously can be overwhelming, but she’s mastered the art of prioritization. “Proper time management and finishing one task at a time” are her secrets to maintaining balance and delivering excellent results for her clients.

Proudest Moments and Memorable Experiences

When asked about her proudest moment as a VA, she beams with pride, saying, “Going two years with my current client.” It’s a testament to her dedication and the strong relationships she’s built over time.

She also recalls a memorable experience with one of her clients: “One thing I will not forget is the training with my client. He was a previous professor, so he was very precise and patient in teaching. It was all overwhelming, but he made it look so easy.” Moments like these highlight the rewarding aspects of her role and the connections she’s forged with her clients.

Overcoming Tough Challenges

Not every experience has been smooth sailing. “The toughest challenge would be staying with my first client. It was so hard to work with someone with very different beliefs and values. I tried to be patient and understanding. I always looked the other way if I didn’t like how he was treating other people. But it didn’t work out with that client in the end,” she reflects.

This challenge taught her resilience and the importance of aligning with clients who share mutual respect and understanding.

How Being a VA Changed Her Life

“It has changed my life completely. I am now fully responsible for my children financially. I am able to provide for myself too. It has made me grow in so many ways,” she shares. Her journey as a VA has not only empowered her but has also allowed her to create a stable and fulfilling life for her family.

Skills Developed Along the Way

Through her role, she has honed two key skills: efficiency and resilience. These traits have become her superpowers, enabling her to handle any challenge with grace and professionalism.

Advice for Aspiring Virtual Assistants

For those just starting their VA journey, her advice is simple yet profound: “Trust the process. It will be hard at first, but you will eventually learn. And hopefully, learn to love your job too.” Her words are a reminder that patience and persistence are vital in building a successful career.

Tyleene's story is a testament to the power of determination, adaptability, and passion. Her journey serves as an inspiration to anyone looking to balance family and career while achieving personal and professional growth.
