SOCIAL DISTANCING DOESN’T MEAN SILENCE, FOLLOW UP!

Now more than ever, it's crucial to focus on what matters most in our lives and our community: Our health, our family and our neighbours. It’s not getting to the gym on time, getting the latest bag nor eating at the fanciest restaurant. And yes, it is disappointing to hear that so many sports events, festivals and other large gatherings are being cancelled, there is a public health reason for these measures.

These cancellations help stop or slow down the spread of disease allowing the health care system to more readily care for patients over time. Social distancing is deliberately increasing the physical space between people to avoid spreading illness.

Staying at least six feet away from other people lessens your chances of catching COVID-19. It has been implemented all around the globe due to this pandemic we are all going through, but as a business owner/realtor/broker social distancing does not mean silence.

Here are some ways to stay in touch digitally:

  1. Text
    The internet is indeed such a magical place, but there’s just something about the text message that gets people excited about the sender. Try it, if you your client’s number. There’s no harm in sending a “hello, how are you” text.
  2. Phone Call
    An even better way to stay in touch. With the quarantine going on, you have a higher chance of them picking up. It doesn’t have to be an hour long, it could just be a 2 minute routine call to your employees or clients to make sure that they are doing okay and that they remember you.
  3. Video Call
    Almost all the social media platform available has this feature. You’re already on those apps, why not take a few minutes to use it to connect or re-connect with clients.
  4. Conference Call
    Zoom, Skype, GoToMeeting, Facetime are some of the few video conferencing applications available at your fingertips to stay connected with your employees, plus they are free to use.

So don’t just sit there and watch Netflix or do TikTok videos all day, get with your phone and follow up!
